Jeanette Marie Peterson

Jeannette Marie Peterson, 81 years old, of Altoona passed away February 5, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System with loved ones at her side.

She was born September 13, 1944, to Violet and George Goss in Eau Claire. She married Donald A. Peterson August 11, 1963, at Our Redeemer Church in Eau Claire.

Jeannette worked at Uniroyal for nearly 20 years until retirement. She was committed to family and loved cooking and baking for the holidays and family meals. She enjoyed arts and crafts and spent many hours painting, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing, and over the last few years watching football. She was self-taught to play the keyboard, harmonica, and she tried her hand at the accordion.

Jeannette is survived by her children John Peterson and Michelle (Peter McGeshick significant other) Devine, grandchildren Brett Devine, Corey Devine, Marissa Devine, and Maggie and Emily McGeshick; brother Jerry Goss; and sister Rhonda Kernan; and many other relatives & friends.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Donald Peterson; son Donald "Donnie" Peterson; her parents Violet and George Goss; sisters Patricia McCann, Ramona Larson, and Donna O'Donahue

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 3735 Jeffers Rd., Eau Claire with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery, Eau Claire.
