Virginia "Ginn" Dawn Markin, nee Allen, age 91, passed away on January 27, 2025, at Azura Memory Care in Eau Claire, WI, where she was dubbed "Director of the Sunshine Committee" for social activities and where she received outstanding and loving care.

Virginia was born in Spanaway, WA on February 10, 1933. Around 1941, the family moved to the rural Warrens, WI area where, in 1951, she graduated from Tomah High School. On September 15th, 1951, Ginn married her high school sweetheart, Billie "Bill" L.E. Markin. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Michael David and Rodney James, and one daughter, Lisa Marie.

Virginia and Bill lived in Tomah, WI their entire working lives. She worked in various administrative positions with the Wisconsin Power & Light Company, Bank of Tomah, and the North-West Telephone Company. She also worked as secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Tomah.

After retiring, Ginn and Bill moved to Eau Claire in 1993. They soon became involved at the Lake Street United Methodist Church, where Ginn sang in the choir, chaired the Fall Bazaar for the UMW, and participated in Stampers and Quilter activities. They also spent their winters in the Leesburg, FL area where they garnered many good friends.

Ginn was a proficient seamstress and home cook, as well as avid with ceramics and other crafting. She was a proud member of the Eau Claire Red Hat Society where she hung with a group of close friends, nicknamed the "Fab Five." She loved to sing soprano in the Chippewa Valley Area Singers and, in her last years, the Stand in the Light Memory Choir.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her father, Maj. Otto (Evelyn) Allen; her mother, Teresa (Bill) Hoffman; three sisters: Marion MacDonald, Myrtle Shields, and Betty Robinson; stepsisters Marguerite Richards and Gwen Maas; half-sister Laurie Hoffman; and grandson Garrett Markin.
