December 12, 1966 - October 4, 2026

Troy Douglas Reetz passed away on October 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Troy was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Above all else, Troy loved his family. The people he loved were an important part of his life, and the memories they made together will forever be treasured.

Troy found happiness in the simple things in life. He loved fishing and the peace that came with being near the water, whether the fish were biting or not. He also had a deep love for music. A good song could bring back a memory, change a mood, or simply make a day a little better.

And Troy loved to make people laugh. He was a jokester who enjoyed giving people a hard time, sharing a laugh, and finding humor wherever he could. Those who knew him will remember his jokes, his sense of humor, and those moments when you weren't quite sure whether he was being serious or just giving you a hard time. His laughter and ability to bring a smile to the people around him will be greatly missed.

But beneath the jokes was a man who genuinely cared about people. Troy had a way of being there when someone needed him, sometimes in ways even his family may never fully know. Since his passing, one of his friends shared just how much Troy had impacted his life-how Troy took care of him during difficult times and planted a seed that ultimately helped him change the course of his life. His friend credits Troy with helping him find sobriety and said simply, "I owe him my life."

That is part of Troy's legacy. Sometimes we never realize how deeply we have touched another person's life or how one conversation, one act of kindness, or simply refusing to give up on someone can change their future. Troy did that for people.

He was someone you could talk to. He was a good listener and wasn't afraid to offer his perspective or play devil's advocate when someone needed it. He had a way of making people think things through, often helping them find their own answers along the way. Those conversations, his advice, and simply knowing he was there are things his family and friends will miss tremendously.

Troy is survived by his parents, Barry Reetz, Stephanie (Mike) McGinnis, and Kathy (Brad) Brogan; his sisters, Tosha (Brian) Reetz and Brenda (Steven) Rada; his brothers, Brady (Kayla) Reetz and Shane (Jean) Donaldson; stepbrothers Cody and Michael McGinnis; his nieces,
Kaidnyce (also his goddaughter), Rayna, Kora, Krystal Lynn, and Robbie; and his nephews, Ian and Issac. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elvin and Mildred Reetz, Stan and Mavis Berry, and Juneau and Alice Seever; his nephew, Chip Asa; as well as numerous aunts and uncles who went before him.

There will never be another Troy. His family will miss his voice, his advice, his jokes and laughter, the music he loved, the stories shared, and all of those ordinary moments that now mean more than words can say.

Although his time here ended far too soon, the love Troy had for his family and the difference he made in the lives of others will remain. He will be remembered whenever a favorite song comes on, whenever a fishing line is cast into the water, whenever someone tells a joke he would have appreciated, and in the lives of the people who are better today simply because Troy was once part of their story.

Rest easy, Troy. You were deeply loved, you made a difference, and you will be forever missed.

A celebration of life will be held at the Bloomer Area Veterans Center, 1206 Veterans Memorial Drive on Sunday, Oct. 18th from 3-
