Thomas Connell

Thomas James Connell, age 79 of Winter, WI, passed away in Holcombe on Thursday July, 31, 2025.

Tom was born to James and Agnes Connell on September,24, 1945. From a young age, Tom took a great interest in fishing which turned into a lifelong sport of choice. After high school, Tom attended college and ultimately became a roofing contractor for nearly 50 years. He employed many people who greatly respected him and held him in high regard. In 1989, Tom met his wife Linda and later got married in 1994. They spent the next 35 years together in marriage.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing, hunting, and the cold beer that goes with it. He knew his way around with tools and became well known as a very good problem solver of almost anything. Tom will be remembered as a caring, generous and loving person. He was a calming presence even in chaos, and always put others before himself.

Tom is survived by his wife Linda, step son William Hawley, his brothers Charlie (Char), John, and Dick (Judith) Connell; several grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his step daughter Penny; brother Robert Connell and sister Janice.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy Altoona, WI with Father James Kurzynski officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Eau Claire.
