Susan Martinez

Susan Rae Smith Martinez, 83, of Hudson, WI, passed away on December 29, 2025.

Susan was born in Saint Paul, MN on December 4, 1942. She graduated from Stillwater High School and continued on to business college.

Susan was married to Michael Martinez on January 21, 2006. They were married almost 20 years.

Susan worked in the local AFSCME office for over 30 years. She was the AFSCME Area Office Secretary and kept everything running smoothly. Susan was instrumental in coordinating the yearly lobby Day on the Hill for the four Minnesota AFSCME Councils. Susan also enjoyed music, word find puzzles, and her cats and friends.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Michael, and loving stepchildren, Dayna and Ryan, and other family and friends.

Susan is preceded in death by father Raymond F. Smith, mother Helen (Volk) Smith and brother Raymond Smith Jr.

The family of Susan wishes to thank Adoray Hospice Care and Kinnic Nursing home in River Falls for the great care she received.
