Susan Kae Aberle, age 76 passed away at home on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, surrounded by her beloved husband and children. Su was born in Roanoke, Illinois to Rich and Helen (Feller) Zimmerman.
Susan, affectionately known as Su, lived a life of compassion, wisdom and unwavering faith. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and devoted her life to helping the critically ill, teaching the spiritual roots of disease and offering hope and healing to many.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 54 years, Michael Aberle and their children: Krent (Rachel) Aberle - children: Greta, Oliver and Julian; Ginni (David) Busche -- children: Trinity, Melody, Yeshua, Shiloh, Jedidiah, Lydia, Liberty and Sarah; Ben (Nancy) Aberle - children: Michala and Ayden; and Joshua (Sarah) Aberle - children Elianna, Samuel, Aaron, William, Madisen, Obadiah, Titus, Isaiah, Thomas and Jasalynn.
Susan was a proud grandmother to 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Rick (Diana) Zimmerman, Patsy (Bill) Kaeb, Jan (Jared) Rogers and Peg (Tim) Stoller.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rich and Helen Zimmerman.
Su found joy in her kitchen, cooking meals that brought her family together. She loved gardening and preserving the harvest through canning and freezing. Her recipes were treasured, though none could quite match her touch. She also enjoyed crafting and painting in her studio, expressing her creativity with warmth and grace.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Harvestime Church, 3625 Southwind Dr, Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Private burial will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington.
The family is deeply thankful for the precious time spent with Su this past year. Special thanks to the dear friends, family, and medical professionals who supported them throughout this journey.
