Steven Mickelson

Dr. Steven Allen Mickelson, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at his home in Fall Creek, Wisconsin, surrounded by his family. He had been on home hospice following a cardiac arrest he experienced while biking on May 14.

Steve was born on May 18, 1952, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Kathryn (Hillstead) and Edward "Aaron" Mickelson. After his widowed mother married chiropractor Dr. Joe Stucky, Steve attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he met and fell in love with his wife, Dr. Cynthia (Trout) Mickelson. Upon graduating in 1975, Steve and Cindy opened a chiropractic practice in Fall Creek, where they worked side by side for 39 years.

Steve faithfully served the Fall Creek community as a chiropractor, Lions Club member, Meals on Wheels driver, Community Cupboard volunteer, AWANA leader, Sunday School teacher, and worship leader and elder at Faith Evangelical Free Church. His many hobbies included playing guitar, competing as a triathlete, biking, golfing, piloting, computer programming, Toastmasters, and being a short-order breakfast chef for his wife, kids, grandkids, and friends. More important to him than all of these was his faith in Jesus Christ and his love for the Word of God.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his sisters, Dr. Linda Seim and Dr. Pamela Stucky LaGuardia; his wife, Cindy; his children, Dr. Heather (Tim) Dona, Todd (Nicole) Mickelson, Kayleen (Justin) Richardson, and Lindsey Mickelson; and ten beautiful grandchildren: Teagan, Madeline, Wesley, Elise, Clair, Graham, Scarlet, Peter, Autumn, and Ethan.

A visitation will be held at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Fall Creek on June 6 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Refreshments will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fall Creek Community Cupboard.
