Stanley Swenson Jr.

Stanley "Stan" Swenson, age 77, of Eau Claire, passed away at home surrounded by friends and family on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Stan was born in Minneapolis, MN to Stanley and Helen Swenson on October 23, 1947. At age 5, he moved to Lund, WI where he grew up and graduated from Pepin High School in 1965. After graduating, he enlisted in the Air Force and served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the Air Force, he met the love of his life Cheryl King in the spring of 1970 and got married in the Fall that same year. In February of 1971, he began working for Myers Utility Structures, working as equipment maintenance for 40 years.

Stan was a man of simple tastes, he enjoyed metal detecting, bow hunting, fixing up cars, and fishing with the grandkids. He spent a lot of time up at their camper in Birchwood, fishing on Big Chetac. He was always busy and made sure his granddaughters knew exactly where everything was in Menards. Family was very important to Stan, he loved spending time with his family especially on the 4th of July, where many of Cheryl's flowers were lost to Stan and the grandkids' fun with firecrackers. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew Ben Peterson; and brothers-in-law Dave Peterson and Wayne Bocksell.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl; children Angie (Pat) Schultz and Jason (Janell) Swenson; grandchildren Taylor (Erik) Ehlert, Madison Hogue, Madison Schultz, Sammy Schultz and Spencer Schultz, Daniell Kusliek, Kayleen Meyer(Zakk Montgomery; great grandchildren Addie Montgomery and Quinn and Rowan Ehlert; sisters Joyce Bocksell of Plum City and Carol Peterson of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law Paul King of Stockholm, WI; sisters-in-law Jean(Dean) Campbell of River Falls, Mary(Bill) Saylor Elk River, MN, Gail(Mark) Kircher of Pepin, WI, and JoAnn(Ken) Crane of Gilbert, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held for Stan from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. at Molly's on Main, 515 Main St. Plum City, WI on August 23. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
