Sharon K Waters, age 79, of Altoona, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13th, 2026. She was born on August 29th, 1947 in Racine, WI.
Sharon was best known for the love she provided to animals on her Dairy farm and being a grandmother. Known for her warm hugs, endless patience, and big heart, Sharon created a home filled with laughter and unconditional love. She spent her days cross-stitching, was an avid hobbyist photographer; capturing countless moments of her family and caring for those around her. Sharon loved her pets (Buster, Rex, Lady, Brandy and Charlie). They meant the absolute world to her. She was a social butterfly who always enjoyed meeting new people & listening to music. Sharon devoted a lot of her life in her earlier years to watching over her grandbabies. She would dress them up in costumes for photo shoots at her house, never missed providing them with the most amazing Halloween celebrations and sleep overs that consisted of movies, homemade milk shakes and circus peanuts. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she loved nothing more than gathering together and sharing every milestone of their lives. Her wisdom and gentle strength anchored our entire family.
She is survived by her siblings; Vonnie Roberg (Norm), Arlene Pate & Gregg Pate; daughters Marlene Waters (Chester Stabenow) and Michelle Gonia (David Rady); her grandchildren Codi Howard (Kyle), Robin Standke (Christopher Krostue), Melinda Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Jacklyn Lewis, Matthew Stabenow, & Michaela Stabenow; her great-grandchildren, Sophie Howard, Isabelle Howard, Elnora Howard, Finn Howard & Isabella Smith as well as many special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Jack Waters; her parents Marjorie Pate (Barry) & Sherwood Potter (Ovida), her sons Michael & Mark Spencer.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Lily Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Sharon during her final days. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
"We had a wonderful grandmother, one who never really grew old. Her smile was made of sunshine, and her heart was solid gold."
