Sharon Loney

October 1, 2025 — December 15, 2025

Sharon K. Loney, Age 81, passed peacefully at her home in Chippewa Falls on December 15, 2025.

A Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 24th at the Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel at 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway in Altoona, WI. Friends may call between 11:00 and 12:00 for the visitation, with a short service and luncheon to follow.

Sharon was born on October 1, 1944, to Mildred (DeMoss) Gutoehrlein and Carl DeMoss. While growing up in Dubuque, IA, she met and married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Robert (Bob) Loney on August 29, 1964. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage in August 2025, with a total of 65 years passing since that fateful day on the ice rink where Bob stole his sister's scarf and found himself knocked down on the ice rink by a girl who told him he better never do that ever again. She was employed most recently by Randall Foods in Dubuque, IA and Cray in Chippewa Falls.

While living in Dubuque and Chippewa Falls, Sharon and Bob were inseparable. They enjoyed trips to the cabin, cooking and sharing recipes, playing cards with friends, reading, dancing, kayaking, fishing, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers or her latest favorite player to watch, Patrick Mahomes. The vast scenery of Alaska was a highlight of her world travels. She and Bob also enjoyed creating beautiful gardens and enjoying the birds from the swing in the backyard.

Sharon is survived and deeply missed by her lifelong friend and husband Robert Loney, her children Dean (Carrie) Loney of River Falls and Curtis (Darcy) Loney of Inver Grove Heights, and her precious grandchildren Megan, Maddie, and Isaac. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Tschiggfrie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ronnie.

Thank you to all who have been supportive to her and to us throughout this journey. We are humbled, grateful and blessed. Sharon will be dearly missed, never forgotten and forever in our hearts. A loved one lives forever in the hearts of those who cared: A loved one lives forever in the memories that were shared.
