Sandra Dotseth

Sandra Lea Dotseth passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by her family's love.

Born in Estelline, South Dakota, on June 10, 1938, to Lester and Ruth Somsen, Sandy's journey took her from Castlewood Elementary to Huron High School and then to South Dakota State University in Brookings. Throughout her life, she often wondered what her true purpose might be. In the end, her gentle and curious spirit found the answer with confidence: "I did it-I'm a Mom."

From tending scraped knees to rocking grandbabies, Sandy found her greatest joy and fulfillment in motherhood. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by the family she cherished above all else.

Her grace, warmth, and kindness live on through her children, Eric (Jodi) and Kris (Ron); her grandchildren, Zack and Mariah; and her husband-her greatest Skip-Bo rival and lifelong partner-Bob.

Sandy is welcomed in heaven by many dear friends and relatives, including her baby sister, Maryann, and her parents, Lester and Ruth.

Her family extends heartfelt thanks to her cousins, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who added so many bright moments to the map of her life.

The family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the dedicated medical teams at several Mayo Clinic locations, St. Croix Hospice and the American Lutheran Home for their exceptional care and compassion toward Sandy.

A memorial service honoring Sandra's life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Friday, November 21, at 11 A.M., with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
