Rosemary Sommerfeld

Rosemary Sommerfeld, 100 years old of Chippewa Falls died April 18, 2025. Rosemary was born in the Town of Bloomer, WI to Peter and Louisa Peil.

On November 10, 1945 she married Kenneth Sommerfeld at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She enjoyed being with her family. She also enjoyed painting for many years.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters: Tom (Lucy); Jim (Mary); Dan (Donna); and Joel (Melinda Walker) Sommerfeld. Jane (Steve) Boiteau; Rosemary Christianson; Paula Wendland (John Willien); and son-in-law; Mike Frank.

Rosemary is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; great, great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-law; Dorothee Sommerfeld and Lorraine Sommerfeld.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Sommerfeld; her daughters, Janet Bresina and Julie Frank; and grandsons, Tom Sommerfeld Jr. and Zachary Sommerfeld

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Elmira Schmidt; brothers: Harold (Norma); Francis (Lucielle), Vernon, John, and Edward (Adrienne) Peil. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or to say masses in honor of Rosemary's name.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 810 Pearl St., Chippewa Falls with Rev. Msgr. Michael Gorman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at North Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer, WI.
