Rosemarie Theresia Roter

June 11, 1936 — March 25, 2026

Rosemarie Roter, of Fall Creek, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26th, at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire, surrounded by family and friends. She faced a courageous two‑year battle with unwavering strength, meeting every challenge with grace, determination, and a resilient spirit.

Born in Germany, Rosemarie came to the United States in 1958. That same year, she married the love of her life, Clemens Roter, and together they built a life grounded in hard work, hospitality, and deep devotion to family. They began their married life in Chicago, and in 1983 fulfilled a long‑held dream by purchasing Green Acres Supper Club in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. While Clemens worked in the kitchen, Rosemarie became the heart of the dining room. She greeted every guest with warmth, knew each regular by name-and often by their order-and quickly became a beloved presence in the community. Many still remember her smile, her kindness, and the way she made everyone feel welcome.

In 2003, Rosemarie and Clemens retired to Fall Creek. She treasured her peaceful days on the deck, looking out over her gardens and backyard. Retirement only deepened her generosity; she spent countless hours knitting baby blankets for a charity hospital on the south side of Chicago. Her handmade creations brought comfort and joy to hundreds of children and chemotherapy patients, each blanket crafted with love and care.

Rosemarie also cherished the friendships she formed with her wonderful neighbors. She loved visiting with them, sharing stories, and enjoying their company. They, in turn, cared for her deeply, cutting her lawn, shoveling snow, offering companionship and support. She felt truly blessed to be surrounded by such kindness.

A woman of strong Catholic faith, Rosemarie lived her beliefs through every act of generosity, compassion, and service. Her faith guided her, and her love of God shaped the way she cared for others.

Rosemarie is survived by her three children: Petra Roter of Onalaska, WI; Greg Roter of Roselle, IL; and Annette Roter of East Grand Forks, MN. She is also survived by her sister Trixie (Detlef) of Germany, and sisters‑in‑law Fay of Clearwater Beach, FL, and Maria of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clemens Roter, and her parents, Anna and Joseph Nover.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Dove South in Eau Claire, the fourth-floor team at Eau Claire Medical Center, and the doctors and nurses of the Eau Claire Medical Center Cancer Center for their exceptional care, compassion, and support.

Rosemarie was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her kindness was effortless, her wisdom steady, and her home was never without cookies to share. She had a rare gift for making people feel loved instantly, and her presence brought warmth wherever she went.

Her family and friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in her memory be made to St. Jude Medical Center, https://www.stjude.org/. For those that knit or crochet a donation of blankets to cancer centers would be welcomed in her memory.

A Memorial Mass for Rosemarie will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, April 9 at St. Raymond of Penafort, E10455 Mallard Rd, Fall Creek, WI. Rosemarie will be laid to rest at Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery following the service. There is no visitation prior to Mass or luncheon after.
