Roger William Linse

Roger W. Linse of Eau Claire, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at the Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls. Roger was born in Eau Claire on May 25, 1931 to August and Hilda Linse.

He grew up on the family farm and later went on to attend a Farm Short Course at UW Madison. He worked at various places and in 1957, he started working at Pope & Talbot, now known as Cascade. He worked 40 years there holding in several positions, his longest being an electrician.

After retirement Roger enjoyed travelling in his motor home. staying many years in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

Survivors include his wife Rita Linse (Pope); sons: Roger Dan (Tracy) Linse and David Lee Linse; daughter Jeanine Linse; stepdaughters: Christine (Duane) Campbell and Charlene Severson; stepson Wayne Severson; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 sisters: Betty Schmidt, Alice Friewald, Mary Linse, and Judy Linse.

Preceding him in death are his parents August and Hilda Linse, brothers August and Robert, and sisters Patricia Linse, and June Knudtson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, E3720 Cty Rd HH, Eleva with Pastor Preston Paul officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Pleasant Valley, Eau Claire County.
