Victor Edwin Spickler

Nov 16, 1933 — Jul 10, 2026

Victor Edwin Spickler, 92, of Lake Hallie, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Victor was born on November 16, 1933, in Mount Morris, Illinois, to Fred and Gladys Spickler. Victor was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen, with whom he shared many years of marriage and raised a family. In his later years, he was fortunate to find love again with Rita. Together, they created new memories and enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including wintering in Texas. Rita brought companionship, laughter, and comfort to Victor throughout his later years.

Victor's life was a testament to hard work, determination, and the belief that success comes from dedication and saving. He demonstrated a remarkable work ethic by beginning his career at 16 as a garbage collector with a vision to recycle; he recycled everything. He had the largest garbage route in Eau Claire. Through years of perseverance, sacrifice, and countless hours of labor, he founded Spickler's Recycling and served the community for many years. Understanding the value of recycling and responsible waste management, he was one of the city's first recyclers, recycling for over 45 years. His passion for his work remained with him throughout his life.

In Victor's free time, he was an avid collector who enjoyed trains, buses, tractors, toys and discovering unique treasures, finding joy in the stories and history behind each piece he added to his collection. Victor will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, former employees, business associates, and all whose lives he touched.

Victor is survived by his wife Rita; brother Clifford (Jennifer) Spickler; sister Loretta Olson; sisters-in-law Robyn Spickler and Sharon Knutson; brother-in-law Rollie (Sue) Bembnister; children: Barb (Al) Scholze, Lisa (Mark) Califf, Tina (Charlie) Trogdon, Tressa Schuh, Lana (Dylan) Leonard, Tonya (Corey) Jahnke, Leo (Kim) Schuh, and Amy Jo (Jeff) Schula; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Gladys, his first wife, Karen, and siblings Freddy Spickler and Glady Pickerign.
