Phyllis L. Holtz, age 90 of Eau Claire, died Monday, July 28, 2025 at Chippewa Manor Assisted Living in Chippewa Falls.
Phyllis was born on November 13, 1934 in Eau Claire, the daughter of Louis and Marion (Spaeth) Bahr. Phyllis graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School. She loved traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.
While in high school, Phyllis started doing daycare for doctors in Eau Clarie and after graduating moved to the Twin Cities to start a career, but that would no last long because she decided instead to move to Florida to be with the love of her life, her high school sweetheart and the absolute rock in her life, Don (then an Airman in the United States Air Force). On May 15, 1954, Phyllis married Donald Holtz in Tampa, Florida. Phyllis was blessed to be a mother and housewife, then the co-pilot and navigator for her and Don's many adventures across the United States.
Phyllis was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Pamela (Jon) Reed of Holcombe and Robin (Randy) Anderson of Holcombe; a sister Marianne (Marly) Varpness of Elk Mound; sister-in-law Patricia of Sun City, Arizona; 4 grandchildren: Michael (Melissa Long) Anderson of Lake Hallie, Kylee (Loren) Alger of Lake Hallie, Joshua (Sharaya) Reed of Alma and Melanie of Fond Du Lac; 6 great-grandchildren: Chloe, Kaelyn, Jackson, Keira, Briea and Kinley; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her husband Donald on Oct, 31, 2006, 2 sisters Margie Bartosh and Ruth Hrdicka, and her brother Jack Bahr.
Phyllis and her family would like to give a very special thank you to the Chippewa Manor and Heartland Hospice for all their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5,2025 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.
