Pauline was born to Anson and Genevieve (DeGriselles)Scott on October 20, 1933 in Round Prairie Township, MN. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Church shortly after being married to Verneal Arnold Goertz on September 29, 1951. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising 6 children with her husband living in rural Long Prairie. Her talents were many, sewing clothing for her family, gardening and preserving food for her family and to sell to others, growing flowers just for the beauty of them, cooking and baking, and in later years quilt making. Her quilts remain in the homes of all her family members as well as the larger community distributed by her church family. Every grandchild received a quilt from her for their graduation and again at their wedding. They are cherished remembrances.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Verneal, daughters, Kathleen Turner (Mike Shoemake) of Prineville, Oregon, Nancy Durheim (Everett) of Kimball, Nebraska, Jeannette Chromey (John) of Fall Creek, Wisconsin, Pamela Galla (David) of Maple City, Michigan, Peggy Fischer (Martin) of Eleva, Wisconsin, and son Steven Goertz (Tammy) of Long Prairie, Minnesota, sisters Betty Scott, Margaret Efner, Mary Wiegers and sisters in law Marlys Zastrow, Mary Scott. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pauline was reunited in heaven with her parents, sister Ruth, brothers David and Phillip, brothers in law Marvin Zastrow, Lawrence Wiegers, Romer Efner, and Don Kozitka, and sister-in-law Marlene Scott.
Pauline will be remembered for her loving and generous nature, always willing to help others wherever she could, giving her time and energy to whatever needed doing.
