Patricia Gail Palmquist

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Patricia "Pat" Gail Palmquist, 89, who passed away suddenly and peacefully on March 26, 2026, with her two daughters, Barb and Tammi, lovingly by her side at Eau Claire Mayo Hospital.

She was born in Eau Claire, WI to Floyd and Ruby Morehouse. She went to high school in Barron WI where she met her high school sweetheart Robert "Bob" W. Palmquist. After graduation they were married and farmed the Palmquist farm in Barron, WI. After they had their first son Robert Jr. "Boob" they moved to Eau Claire where they started up the family business "Palmquist Plastering and Drywall." During this time, they had Barbara, Michael "Mikey" and Tammi. Our family spent almost every weekend and holiday "up north" in Barnes, WI which was our second home. She was the heart of our family, she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and many cherished memories with us. Friends and family meant everything to her and she treasured the time she spent with the people she loved most. Our family and holiday dinners were always open to anyone who happened to stop by. There was always room for one more, and she somehow made sure there was always enough food, homemade baked goods, and a good beverage to go around. No one ever left hungry.

In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, playing cards, snowmobiling, motorcycling, boating, fishing, and hunting. She especially loved watching the Green Bay Packers and never understood why they would try to run the ball up the middle of the field, she would yell in discuss "that play never works!!!" She also loved to watch the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team when she had time.

Her beloved husband Robert "Bob" W. Palmquist Sr. and two son's Robert "Boob" W. Palmquist Jr. and Micheal "Mikey" A. Palmquist were awaiting her heavenly arrival along with her parents, grandparents, one brother, her two sisters, her in-laws, extended family, and many close friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barb (Kevin) McDonald, and Tammi Palmquist; her sister Geraldine Hestekin. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many extended family along with countless friends.

A private burial is planned for family only.

Save the date (Saturday July 11, 2026) Celebration of Life for Mom or Ma Palmquist as you all called her. We will announce the place and time on Face Book, as we are still finalizing the place in Eau Claire.

We are so grateful for your outpouring of love and support, heartfelt and thoughtful words during this difficult time with the passing of Mikey in January and now mother.
