Michael J Soronen

Michael James Soronen, age 81, died Thursday, March 5, 2026, at his home in Thorp, WI. Michael was born December 10, 1944, in Park Falls, WI to Charles and Buelah (Lemke) Soronen. Mike married Marjorie Mazes on August 20, 1966. They were married for 38 years until her passing in 2005. Mike spoke very fondly of his late wife and their dog. Mike was employed as a steelworker working for the union in Ashland, WI. He loved Elvis Presley and performed many shows as an Elvis impersonator. Mike was a gentle soul who brought joy to the people around him. Mike was very loved by his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his siblings Faith Soronen, Frederick (Fritz) Soronen, Richard Soronen and Becky (Soronen) Nelson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marjorie and siblings Wayne Sarafin, Peter Soronen, Patrick Soronen, and Cindy Soronen.

A special thank you to the people at Aurora Community Services, Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center and The Arc Eau Claire, Inc. for their care and support of Mike for many years. Mike will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of working with him and being part of his life.

A service will be held at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, visitation at 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m.
