Michael Loren Froseth

Dec 15, 1967 — Aug 20, 2026

Michael Loren Froseth "Mike", 58, of Cleghorn, Wisconsin passed away at his home surrounded by his three loving daughters and close friends and family on August 20, 2026.

Michael was born on December 15th, 1967, in Eau Claire, WI to Loren and Judy (Schilling) Froseth. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1986. In 1988, Mike left the family farm in Cleghorn to move to Fridley, Minnesota. In May 1991, Mike married Sandra Brott at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Together, they were blessed with three daughters: Kendra, Melissa, and Brianna.

Mike worked nights at ELO Engineering as a Welder while also spending his days caring for Kendra and Melissa until 1996. He then began driving semi for his father-in-law, Don Brott, while he and Sandy built a house to bring their family back home to Cleghorn. After his father's passing, Mike carried on the legacy of Froseth Rightway Insulation. Mike and Sandy spent many years building businesses and raising their 3 daughters while enjoying country living. As a family, they enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, four-wheeling, and cruising in the Mustang convertible. Mike raised his daughters as tomboys and instilled the quality of a strong work ethic, so they could successfully accomplish anything that life brought them. Mike and Sandy separated in 2009.

Mike continued to work as an entrepreneur, eventually adding snow removal and dump trucking to his many work ventures. He took great pride in his workmanship and could never walk away with a job left "half-assed" and wasn't afraid to remind someone how he thought something should be correctly done. Mike was truly a jack of all trades. There wasn't much he couldn't build, fix, or figure out. From mechanics to construction, he had an incredible talent for working with his hands.

Mike saw a familiar face everywhere he went, and never missed the opportunity to catch up. Mike was passionate about his family - making it a life task to stay connected with many cousins and distant relatives. If you were lucky enough to know Mike, you likely have plenty of stories of his mischievous ways, enjoyed a meal or a few with him at one of his favorite restaurants, and had the honor of grabbing "just one" drink-which never usually ended up as just one.

Mike loved being a Dad to his girls but nothing surpassed being "Papa Dump" to his 7 grandchildren- Owen, Sophia, Everly, Aubree, Westlyn, Skyla, and Taylee. Mike found deep fulfillment watching his grandchildren at their sporting events, plays, and concerts.

When Mike wasn't in a dump truck working, you could find him enjoying the outdoors riding his side-by-side, behind the wheel of one his collector or sports cars, listening to classic country music, watching WWE or a football game, at the races or a truck/tractor pull, testing your math facts, relaxing on a tropical beach, hosting his annual deer camp, or talking on the phone to one of his many close buddies. But the hobby that brought Mike the most joy was snowmobiling. He put on thousands of miles throughout his lifetime, enjoying the trails throughout Northern Wisconsin and Michigan.

Mike lived his life on his own terms and made every day a good day, until he no longer could. He worked hard, played harder, loved his family, and never met a stranger. While his time with us was cut far too short, his legacy will live on through his daughters, grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Loren Froseth; mother, Judy Hanson; stepfather, Sonny Hanson; granddaughter, Skyla Otto; aunt, Caroll Court; and many other aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

He is survived by his daughters, Kendra (Jameson) Dekan, Melissa (Tyler) Otto, and Brianna (Alexander) Nichols; his grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Gary) Schilling, Rick Schilling, Matt (Kristine) Froseth, and Duane (Diane) Froseth; nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous cousins.
