Mary Louise DesForge, age 75 of Lake Hallie died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Lake Hallie Memory Care.
Mary was born in Eau Claire on December 25, 1941, the daughter of Harold and Mary Ellen DesForge.
She graduated from Regis High School in 1959 and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church her whole life. Mary also was an avid reader, loved animals, she was a great seamstress, and spent hours compiling information on family genealogy and gave to many charities. Mary also loved 50’s music, especially Elvis and the Everly Brothers.
She worked in retail at Sears, Samuelson’s Fashion Store, Rutledge Home and Oakwood Villa and at Hancock Fabrics. Mary was a crafty and religious, but shy girl. She devoted her time to her parents. Mary ventured to Arizona after high school and came back to live with her parents to help take care of her father when he became ill.
Mary is survived by her sisters: Sharon (Graham) Lant of Sun City, Arizona and Joanne (Tom) Verbracken of Chippewa Falls; brother: Fred (Patricia) DesForge of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews: Kim (Jeff) Scherer, Brian (Jodi) Verbracken, Scott (Stephanie) Verbracken, Kathryn DesForge, Andrea (Jarod) Boe, Matt (Stephanie) DesForge, Diana (Rob) Swanson, Michelle Severson (Merlin); an uncle Thomas E. Golden and an aunt Sonja Golden. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her mother Mary Ellen and father Harold; Karyn DesForge, Kristy Verbracken, Graham Lant and her beloved pets Sandy and Daisy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave., Eau Claire, with Fr. George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 -7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service to conclude the evening’s visitation. Visitation will also be held 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Burial will be held at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
