Martin Klomstad

With heavy hearts, we share that Martin "Marty" David Klomstad passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2026, at the age of 62.

Marty was born on January 31, 1963, in Fargo, North Dakota. He was raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin and lived a majority of his life in Altoona, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Klomstad and Audrey Lenroot, his first wife, Kim Wayne, mother of his children.

He is survived by his children, Matthew (Kaitlyn) Klomstad and Ryan (Darian) Klomstad, grandchildren Aubrielle, Malcolm, and Desi; former wife Laurie, seven step children; seven step grandchildren; his brothers, Wayne Klomstad and Paul Klomstad, and their families; special friend Annie Kopet; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Martin graduated high school in 1981 from Waukesha South High School where he played football. In 2015 he received an associate's degree in small engine repair from Chippewa Valley Technical College.

During his sons' childhood, Marty enjoyed attending their basketball games, spending time outdoors, and camping with family and close friends. A lifelong Wisconsin sports fan, he could often be found watching or listening to games.

Marty was a skilled mechanic and craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands. He spent countless hours in his garage fixing and working on various projects. In recent years, he developed a passion for woodworking, creating custom wood pieces and taking pride in refining his craft.

A celebration of life service will take place at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Donations are preferred to the family.
