Marie Freeland

Marie Evaline Freeland, age 99 of Altoona, passed away at River Pines in Altoona.

Marie was born to Raymond and Gladys Hosford on May 6, 1926 in Corvalis, Oregon. After graduating from high school, she met the love of her life Everette Freeland and they were married on October 4, 1946, spending 70 years together in marriage.

Marie was a woman of many talents. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed ceramics. She owned her own online store, Tiffany Creations. Marie also had an athletic side as she was a great bowler, she even bowled a perfect game! She was also known as a hard worker, working until she was 83 years old, spending time working for Green Thumb, an organization that specialized in helping people find jobs and housing. For her outstanding work, she was recognized nationally. She was a social butterfly that also enjoyed giving back to her community. She volunteered for Eastern Star and was a 2-time Worthy Matron. Her kindness and creativity will be missed by many.

She is survived by children: Bruce (Deb), Roxanne, Everette Jr. (Karen) and Don (Cindy); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; son-in-law Thomas Anderson; siblings Richard Hosford and Joanne Styer; and sister-in-law Irene Hosford.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Everette Sr., son Ronald, daughter Debbie Anderoson, granddaughters Katherine and Melissa Freeland, brothers Raymond Jr. and Robert Hosford, and brother-in-law Larry Styer.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway with Pastor Jeremy Freeland officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Private inurnment will be the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
