Louise Partlow, age 91 of Altoona, WI passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday April 17.
Louise Helen was born on July 9, 1934 to Carl and Christena (Janssen) Strandt in Ladysmith, WI. She grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1952. In 1954 Louise married Leol Partlow. Together they had 4 children: David (Lana) Partlow of Altoona, Keith Partlow of Altoona, Kay (Joe) Stafford of Farmington, MN and Julie (Dave) Mortaloni of Anoka, MN. Louise spent most of her years working at the Farmers Store in downtown Eau Claire. She finally decided to retire at the age of 65 in 1999.
After retiring she spent a lot of her newly found free time outdoors playing with flowers or weeding her flower beds. Louise enjoyed getting together with 7 other ladies playing a good game of 500 once a month. But above all, Louise enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being able to attend hockey games, tee ball games, swim meets, concerts, going camping, going to stock car races, or just catching a good Packers or Brewers game!
Louise was a lifelong member of Plymouth United Church of Christ in Eau Claire and she served on the church council for many years. In those years she was on the council, she served as the secretary treasurer, was on the Alter Guild and stayed very busy in whatever was going on with any activities. She always made or bought treats to have with coffee before church. She enjoyed helping decorate the church for Christmas. She made the same kind of pies every year for the pie and ice cream social, peach and pecan. The annual church thrift/bake sale was where her dessert making abilities shined as her angel food cake and paparazzi popcorn was a favorite!
Louise is survived by her children; grandchildren Eric (Ashleigh) Partlow of Altoona, Adam (Jessica) Partlow of Black River Falls, Nikki (Marcus) Stabe of Altoona, Jacob (Julia) Bergh of Virginia, Zach Stafford of Los Angeles, and Hayley Partlow of Eau Claire; great-grandchildren Kaden, Sarah, Paige, Kyle, Tyler, Camron, Carter, Emma, Brayden, Parker, Elsie and Maverick.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Leol; parents Carl and Christena Strandt; father and mother-in-laws Lincoln and Viola Partlow; and 2 brothers Donald and Robert Strandt.
A memorial service for Louise will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, April 29 at Plymouth United Church of Christ, 2010 W Moholt Dr, Eau Claire. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. until time of service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care that Effie and Miranda gave her the last couple of months. The family is truly blessed for all the love and support they gave Mom.
