Lois Erickson

Lois L. "Bernie" Erickson (Geissler), age 85 of Altoona, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Grace Lutheran River Pines in Altoona. Lois/Bernie was born on April 12, 1940 in Chippewa Falls, WI to the late Leonard and Irene (nee Kastel) Geissler.

Early in life Lois/Bernie moved to Milwaukee where she met her husband, Stan. They married in Milwaukee on May 18, 1963. In 2023 they celebrated their 60th year of marriage. In 1970 Stan & Lois/Bernie built a home off Lake Michigan in Racine, WI where she lived until moving to Cumberland, WI in 2006 to be closer to her family and enjoy her retirement with her favorite companions Abbe & Koda. Then in 2022 they moved to Altoona, WI.

She worked at Nunn Bush Shoe and other various factories while in Milwaukee & Racine retiring in 2005.

Lois/Bernie enjoyed bowling, fishing, crafts, crocheting, knitting, macramé and cooking. She was a good bean bag thrower, and she was known as the bingo queen at River Pines. She enjoyed traveling across the country via motorcycle seeing many parts of the United States & Canada. Traveled several years to Buckeye, Arizona where she met several friends and always enjoyed the duck fart parties.

She is survived by her husband, Stan; son Kevin (Jodie Schoenike); grandchildren: Cassandra (Alex) Gabriel, Marcus Erickson, and Haylee (Harley Fagerland) Erickson; great-grandchildren: Addisyn, Aylah, Jack and Max; siblings: Darlene Lund, Dick (Donna) Geissler, Ronnie (Sandi) Geissler, Jude (Gene) Shaffer, Diane Geissler, Marv (Denise) Geissler, Brad (Donna) Geissler and Brian (Kris) Geissler; nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents Leonard & Irene, and siblings Dolores Follensbee, Butch, Huntz and Randy Geissler along with her beloved animals. Abbe, Koda & Kittie

The family would like to thank the teams at River Pines and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care, support, and kindness during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N4063 Veterans Way, Spooner on Friday, November 7.
