Lisa Sue (Stencel) Woodman, 38, of Stanley, WI, passed away on August 17, 2026.
Lisa was born in Tongduchon (now Dongducheon), South Korea in 1987 to Sam In Stencel (born Yi) and Leo Clarence Stencel. Not long after, the military family relocated to the United States where Lisa spent most of her formative years in Winona, MN, graduating from Winona High School. Later, after moving to Eau Claire, WI, she met her future husband at a themed event kicking off an adventure that would be their life. Together, they grew their careers - hers at Menards and his within the wireless telecommunications industry. Their careers led them to live in several cities throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota before they married in 2017 and returned to the Chippewa Valley in 2018 to start a family.
Lisa will be remembered for her beauty, kindness, and the love she held for those around her. Her greatest joys were being mommy to her children, wife to the love of her life, auntie to six kiddos, rescuer to innumerable furry creatures, and amateur pop star on karaoke nights.
Lisa is preceded in death by her first son Isaiah and her mother Sam. She is survived by her husband Josiah, children Ethan and Emma, father Leo, sister Samantha (Chris) Harkey, and sisters-in-law Rachel (Hollea Boquist) Woodman and Joy (Josh) Carter.
Lisa's life, and the light she carried, will be celebrated in a small private lantern ceremony in late October. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express condolences may do so by donating to their local Humane Society.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family.
