Larry Dilts

Larry Allen Dilts, age 85, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Larry was born in Royal Center, Indiana on May 27, 1940. He married Marcia Garr on November 18, 1960 and was married 65 years.

Larry worked construction for 37 years. He worked 25 of those years for Market & Johnson where he was a labor foreman for many years. In his younger years, Larry liked to hunt and fish. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with family, feeding the birds and squirrels and traveling, especially out west .

Larry was an honest, fair, hard working man who always had a story to tell with a lip packed with chewing tobacco. We are comforted to know that Dad is eternally resting with Mom, the true love of his life.

He is survived by his 2 children Brian Dilts and Charlene (Mike) Chmelik; daughter-in-law Connie; grandchildren Becca, Beth (Alex) Pope, Emily (Scott) Dickinsen, Nedra; great-grandson Kevin; and many other family and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his loving wife Marcia; his son Brad and his parents.

The celebration of Larry's life will take place Saturday, April 4 from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. at 4 Corners in Chippewa Falls.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Chippewa Ambulance Service and the emergency room staff at Marshfield Medical center in Eau Claire and the 8th floor care staff at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.
