Larry Burrows

Larry Allman Burrows, 76, passed away on August 6, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, with his family by his side. Born on July 4, 1949, in Eau Claire, Larry was the son of Allman and Phyllis (Lange) Burrows.

A 1967 graduate of Memorial High School in Eau Claire, Larry went on to attend UW-Stout, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering in 1972. He eventually moved to Colorado, where he met Nancy, and they married on July 16, 1978. They returned to Wisconsin in the early 1980's to be closer to extended family as they began to raise their own family. In his younger years, Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and friends, as well as tending to his garden. Larry was a man of deep faith and a long-term member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. His steadfast faith and devotion to his family sustained him through his long battle with MS.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Terry Burrows; his nephew, Craig Burrows; his father-in-law, Harry Zimmerman; his mother-in-law, Lucille (Holmstadt) Zimmerman; and his sister-in-law, Joanne (Zimmerman) Cardinal.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Cassie (John) Chrystal and Nicolas (Danny) Burrows; his siblings, Diane (John) Merritt, Deb (Mike) Walter, and Tom (Amy) Burrows; his brothers-in-law, Dick (Dee) Zimmerman and Steve (Linda) Zimmerman; his brother-in-law, Steve Cardinal; and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Dove Healthcare - West and Mayo Clinic Health System for the exceptional care given to Larry during his stays.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona with Pastor James Whatley officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
