Kim Wilson

Kim Wilson, aged 73 years and 10 days, died on Thursday 16 July 2026 in Altoona, Wisconsin.

Born on July 6, 1953, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Robert and Joy Dodge Wilson, Kim lived a life marked by love, creativity, compassion, and dedication to others.

Kim's passion for the arts and for the education of young children was evident early on. She was a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota at Duluth, receiving a degree in elementary education.

During her time at the university, she played the leading role in the musical Hello Dolly, which showcased her remarkable talent, and foreshadowed a lifelong love of the performing arts.

Following graduation, Kim devoted her professional life to teaching Kindergarten. Her classroom was a place of warmth and encouragement where young minds were nurtured with patience and joy. She remained in this role until her retirement, touching countless lives through her dedication to early childhood education.

Her talents extended far beyond the classroom and the stage-she was known for being selfless and giving, always ready to lend an ear or offer support. Intelligent and thoughtful, Kim had a gift for making people feel seen and valued.

Kim was deeply involved in her community, playing a supportive role in her husband's performing career as well as local wildlife rescue and political fundraising efforts.

Those who knew Kim remember her as a good friend and listener whose positivity was infectious. Whether through her work, her performances, or simply by her presence, she brought light into every room she entered.

Kim is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry Heagle, also of Altoona, her sister Kristi Wilson of Excelsior, Minnesota, and by her life-long friend Jill Hartman of Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joy Wilson, also of Minnesota.
