Kenneth William Schaller

Kenneth William "Ken" Schaller, 91, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away at his home on the family farm on August 9, 2026.

Ken was born on March 29, 1935. He began working alongside his father, Louis Schaller, on the family farm as a young boy. The farm, started by his father, became a four-generation family farm and provided a wonderful life and livelihood for Ken and Joan's three sons. Later, their eight grandchildren also had the opportunity to grow up and live life on the farm.

Ken married Joan Mahnke on April 24, 1965. They were married for 55 years. Ken and Joan were longtime members of Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. Ken also proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.

Ken farmed his entire life. The farm was his passion and truly his whole life. He was still driving tractor for spring planting and the fall harvest in 2025 at the age of 90! Ken was dedicated to his work and didn't miss a milking for 50 years, no matter how sick he was.

Ken and Joan also enjoyed getting out daily for lunch together. Some of their favorite places included Old Country Buffet, Chippewa and Altoona Family Restaurants, Pizza Ranch and Randy's. These simple outings were special times they shared together. After Joan's passing his sons took him out for lunch.

Ken's faith was very important to him, and his family takes comfort in knowing that he is now in a better place. He continued attending church until about a month before his passing.

Ken is survived by his three sons, Bob (Julie), John, and Larry; eight grandchildren, Jim (Katie), Will (Kristi), Mike, Evie, Deanie (fiancé Landon), Gillian, Rachel (Jordan), and Hunter; and two great-grandchildren, Josie and Owen. He is also survived by his sister, Ruby Schumacher, and nieces Kathy and Shari.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Esther Schaller; his wife, Joan; and his brother-in-law, Jim Schumacher.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5 at Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Mark Neumann will preside.
