Karen Lee Donnelly

Karen Lee Donnelly, 85, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the loving care of her family and St. Croix Hospice.

Karen was born in the Township of Spring Lake, Wisconsin, to Eldon and Helen Hanson. She graduated from Menomonie High School and, in 1961, married the love of her life, Loyd Donnelly. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and faithfulness, raising their five children in rural Menomonie.

Karen's greatest joy was her family. She treasured her roles as a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. Her home and heart were always full of warmth, care, and the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. Karen enjoyed losing herself in a good book, gathering around the table for a game of cards, crocheting, and watching Wheel of Fortune.

She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 65 years, Loyd Donnelly; children, Valerene Cataract, Colena Webb, Tracey Hasz, and Kent Donnelly; daughter-in-law, Viola Donnelly; grandchildren; siblings Sharon Cornish, Terry (Jeff) Brown, John (Nita) Hanson, Julie Hanson and Marsha Hanson; and other family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her son, Keith Donnelly; father and stepmother, Eldon and Sue Hanson; mother and stepfather, Helen and Ray Hendricks; siblings, Dick Hanson, Tom Hendricks, Randy Hendricks, Bridget Hanson, and Michael Hanson; father- and mother-in-law, Keith and Alta Donnelly; and sons-in-law, George Cataract, Doug Webb, and Tom Hasz.

Karen's love, kindness, and devotion to those she held dear will remain forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life honoring Karen will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Dunn Town Hall in Downsville, Wisconsin.
