John Heinemeyer

John C. Heinemeyer, age 92, of Eau Claire, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. John was born on August 16, 1932 in Bismarck, North Dakota to the late Oscar and Helen Heinemeyer.

He graduated from high school with the class of 1950 in Hebron and then went to college at North Dakota State University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree Business Administration. While he was attending college, he would meet Gloriann Erickson. They met on a blind date on October 10, 1951 and would marry on December 17, 1954. It was also during this time that he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged on March 13, 1957.

John played golf up until the age of 89, it was one of his passions. He was a jokester, a cribbage player and an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. In his earlier years, he played basketball and baseball. He and his friends started a basketball team that would travel throughout the Midwest to play.

John was a member of the Toastmasters in the Twin Cities and the Menomonie Lions Club.

One of his favorite things was to have get togethers with his children and grandchildren, playing dice and cards.

He is survived by his children: Kim (Neil) Laberee, Lyn Kalina and John; grandchildren Jessica (Ryan) Patt, Jonathan Laberee, Susan Viehauser and Jack Heinemeyer; and sister Jane Serino.

Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Gloriann (who passed away on March 30, 2025) and brother Robert.
