Joan Lee

Joan Louise Lee passed away peacefully at her home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on June 1, 2025, at the age of 71.

She was born on April 27, 1954, in Ladysmith, WI, to Roberta and Jack Fecteau. Joan was one of seven siblings and is remembered lovingly by Mary Baker, Bruce Fecteau, Ann Pesta, and Kent Fecteau. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Dave Fecteau and Laura Fecteau.

Joan earned two degrees in information technology and forensic computers. Her career included time at the Governor's Office in Saint Paul, MN and at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she worked in IT. She was passionate about technology, politics, and helping others, especially children with disabilities.

She was a proud and devoted mother to Jeffery Lee, Jacob Lee (Claire), and Nathan Lee (Chelsey), and a loving grandmother to Colin and Marlo Lee. She was deeply kind, social, generous, and always made others feel thought of and cared for. Her family, her cats Ziggy and Dusty, good books, The Beatles, and Tom Petty brought her joy.

Joan's final wishes included support for the Children's Hospital of St. Paul. In her memory, donations can be made there in lieu of flowers.

A private burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, on June 17, 2025.
