Jerry passed away at the age of 84 on November 27, 2025 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI from complications of abdominal surgery in Eau Claire.

Jerry was born July 23, 1941 in Barron, WI to Fred and Bernice (Bagley) Schmidt. Jerry graduated from Barron High School in 1959. On September 27, 1969 Jerry married Rosemary Jacobson at the Elk Creek Lutheran Church of Hale rural Osseo. They have resided in Eau Claire since.

In retirement Jerry enjoyed woodworking projects, shortwave radio listening and working in his yard. He and Rose camped for 32 years and especially enjoyed the beautiful State Parks around WI and MN. The UP of Michigan was also a favorite of theirs. They belonged to the Northern Lights camping club, Good Sams and the Winnebago Itasca Travelers group.
