Jerome Paul Dutter

Jerome P. "Jerry" Dutter passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones, on May 27, 2026. He was born September 25, 1954, in Eau Claire to James and Ada Dutter.

Jerry married Peggy Anderson in 1973, and together they had three children: Craig James, Christa Lee, and Carrie Jean. They later divorced. In 1999, Jerry met Pamela Burr, and they were united in marriage on September 11, 2004.

Jerry cherished time spent with Pam, especially weekends in Chetek, where he enjoyed relaxing on the pontoon, fishing, and making lasting memories with family and friends. Together, they also loved wintering in South Padre Island.

He had a passion for working with his hands and could often be found in his shop rebuilding cars, Honda 70s, campers, park models, and pontoons. Jerry loved old cars, attending races in Brainerd, off-road adventures, and fishing trips with his brother to the Northwest Territories, Canada and Michigan. One of his favorite traditions was his weekly Wednesday "date night" at Do Dodge, where laughter and friendship were always in abundance.

Known for his quick wit and love of life, Jerry brought joy to those around him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his deep love for family and friends, and the countless memories he created with those who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pamela; his children, Craig (Dawn) Dutter, Christa (Steve) Scullion, and Carrie Dutter; and his step-son, Chad (Lisa) Burr. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Running and Lois (John) Johnson; his sister-in-law, Lynn Dutter; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Dutter; father, James Dutter; brother, Charlie Dutter; step-daughter, Chandra Bundy; brother-in-law, Carter Running; and niece, Corrie Hybarger.

A private family gathering will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at Do Dodge on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
