Jane Elizabeth Brown

Jane Elizabeth Brown, age 85, of Eau Claire, WI. passed away peacefully on Sunday June 7, 2026. She spent her last few months under the excellent care of Dove West.

She was born on October 8, 1940, as the oldest daughter of Donald and Pauline Dundas. She spent her early years growing up in Neillsville, WI. with her younger sister Mary and brother Paul Prior to her senior year of high school they moved to Eau Claire, WI. and graduated from Eau Claire High School (now Memorial H.S.) in 1958. While in high school she met Michael "Mike" Brown. They quickly fell in love and were married in May of 1959.

Jane and Mike raised three sons - David, Mark and Steven. After renting on Forest Street, they moved from their first home on Hickory Lane to Fern Ct in Eau Claire. She enjoyed taking family camping trips to Yellowstone National Park and spent many summers at Leesome Lake near Rice Lake WI. and also, a family cottage on Old Abe Lake in Jim Falls WI.

Jane was first employed as a nurse's aide at Sacred Heart Hospital. As the boys grew older she went to work at Northwestern Credit Bureau, in downtown Eau Claire. She later took positions with local banks and retiring from Royal Credit Union as a personal banker.

Jane had the blessing of many great friends. A group of them formed a "card club" meeting for many decades. They would rotate and gather often at each other's home to have dinner and play cards and visit. Jane loved to play the piano, spend time spoiling her grandchildren and attend church at Grace Lutheran then at Saving Grace. She loved to socialize and was very committed on maintaining her relationships with family, friends and neighbors.

Jane is survived by her sister Mary (Ron) Doering of Eau Claire, WI. Her brother Paul (Patti) Dundas of Eau Claire, WI. Sons David Brown of Eau Claire, WI. Son Mark (Dianne) Brown of Chippewa Falls, WI. Son Steven (Gretchen) Brown of Reedsburg, WI. Grandchildren included are Collin Brown of Eau Claire, WI., Molly (Carly) Sprouse of La Crosse, WI., Ian (Olivia) Brown of Lake Delton, WI., Nolan (Abbey) Brown of Englewood, FL. Great grandchildren are Beau Brown (Nolan and Abbey) and Ethan Brown (Ian and Olivia).

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18 at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 3735 Jeffers Rd., Eau Claire with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
