James Allen Forthun

James Allen Forthun, age 75, Town of Drammen, died on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Care Partners in Altoona. He was born on March 21, 1951 to the late Roger and Bernita Forthun. He was a resident of Altoona Care Partners for last year and ½ of his life.

James was a self-employed carpenter who built beautiful decks. He enjoyed watching movies, especially Sci-Fi, and crime movies. He always figured out the plot before the end of the movie. He loved listening to his music, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. James was so proud of his sons Ben and Alex, their accomplishments, and loved talking about them.

Preceding him in death by his parents, Roger and Bernita, infant brother Barry, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, many cousins, friends, and classmates.

James is survived by his brother, Thomas R. and Patsy Y.; sister LuAnn and Randy Books; sons, Benjamin and Alex Forthun; and ex-wife Gloria Dickie Forthun; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews; and best fur friend, Lilbit.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
