Harold Gerhardt Schiefelbein, age 83, of Fall Creek, passed away at home on January 20th, 2026. Harold was born on September 12th, 1942 to Ewald and Goldine Schiefelbein and was raised in the Eau Claire area. He graduated from Osseo High School with the class of 1960. In February of 1964, he began working at McDonough Mfg. as a machinist, a position he held for 41 years. In April of that same year, he married Irene Hageness. Together they raised a family of 3 children and many pets.
Above all else, family was the most important thing to Harold. He loved to tend his garden with them and take them fishing.
Everyone knew him to be a tinkerer, always puttering around the house, picking up some project or another. On Sundays, they'd go for a ride (except for when the Packers were on). During baseball season, they always watched the Brewers. He loved to play a game of horseshoe or softball with the guys.
He was always there when you needed him, fixing cars and doing home improvement projects for his kids. And later with the grandkids, carving pumpkins, reading stories, and dyeing Easter eggs.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; his children: Dawn (Greg) Lemke of Middleton, Galen (Kit) Schiefelbein of Eau Claire, and Troy Schiefelbein of Eau Claire; grandchildren: Katy, Amy, and Sarah Schiefelbein, and Erin and Luca Lemke; sisters: Lorraine Benner and Marge (Gary) Schmidt; in-laws: David and Judy Hageness, Linda and Mike Monson, Larry Amundson, Ruth and Merv Nordstrom, Norma and Mike Klotz; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law Russell and Amy Hageness, brother-in-law Lloyd Benner, and sister-in-law Kristine Amundson.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Mayo Clinic Dialysis Center in Eau Claire.
