George Patrick Herbert Jr.

George Patrick Herbert, 84, of Owen Wisconsin, passed away on April 6, 2026.

George was born in Passaic, New Jersey on September 25, 1942. He graduated from Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak, New York and continued his education in the State University of New York and University of Wisconsin Eau Claire.

He worked as a machinist and carpenter for various companies in New York and Wisconsin. He was an avid book collector and a great lover of the natural world and its insects, reptiles and amphibians.

He is survived by his brother Thomas Herbert in Kingston,Pennsylvania, cousins in the Minneapolis region and Los Angeles areas, and other family and friends including Roxana Reitz and Douglas Fields of Owen Wisconsin.

George is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Shalkon Herbert, and his Father George Patrick Herbert.
