George Francis Diller, age 82, of Altoona, WI, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at Caretta Senior Living in Eau Claire.
Born on January 29, 1943, in Menomonie, WI, George was the son of Francis and Velma Diller. He graduated from Mondovi High School and went on to earn his degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, after serving in the United States Army. George built a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant and became a partner at Wipfli in Eau Claire prior to his retirement, where he was respected for his integrity, dedication, and professionalism.
George was passionate about bass fishing and golfing, spending countless joyful hours on his boat and even more hours at golf courses around the country and even over-seas. His primary "home course" being the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club where he was a member for over 60 years. His love for golf and fishing was matched only by his love for his two son's Eric (Kerrie) Diller of Cave Creek, AZ, and Adam (Laura) Diller of Strum, WI. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Kallie, Ashley, Christopher, and AJ. They were his pride and joy and he spoke of all of them often and with great affection.
George is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Norma (Diller) Gitzen. He is survived by his two sons, his 4 grandchildren and his brother Wayne (Mary Jane) Diller of Mondovi, WI. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his passionate personality and the love he had for his family.
In accordance with his wishes, George will be cremated and a private family burial will take place at the Diller family plot in Menomonie, WI where he will rest beside his grandparents, parents, and beloved uncle.
