Eloise J. Vantassel

Eloise Jay Van Tassel, 84, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away on March 8th, 2026. Eloise, originally named Eloisa Isela Chacon, was born in El Paso, Texas on February 15th, 1942, to Jose and Celia Chacon. She graduated from Irving High School in El Paso, Texas. Eloise worked in Quality Assurance for Presto in Alamogordo, New Mexico for many years.

Eloise enjoyed reading, crocheting for her loved ones, and working on the daily crossword puzzle. She had a fondness for bacon and storing back her delicious recipes. Eloise loved feeding her animals and tending to her plants. She was reserved with a wry wit, sharp and funny, a constant companion and ardent friend.

After 29 years of loving companionship, Eloise and Terry Van Tassel were married on June 17, 2008, and enjoyed 46 years together before her passing. Eloise is survived by her husband, Terry Van Tassel, as well as her children, Veronica Worrell and Colby Schultz, and her grandchildren, David Worrell, James Worrell, Jessica Worrell, Ashley Celeste, and Hanna Parker, her niece, Tina Chacon and nephews Chris Tarrango and Marc Tarrango and her beloved cat, Joshua.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Celia Chacon, and her siblings, Edward Chacon, Joe Chacon, and Lucy Tarrango.

To honor Eloise's wishes, no funeral service will be held, however, the family will hold a private memorial to celebrate her life and love.
