Elaine Stewart

Elaine K. Stewart, age 88 of Eau Claire, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire. Elaine was born on August 21, 1937 in Downsville, WI to the late Gilbert and Florence Smith. She was the only girl and the youngest of 4.

She graduated from Menomonie High School. Elaine married LaVerne Stewart on January 4, 1963. While they were together, they had 2 sons. She worked at Northwest WI Home care and later Mayo as a scheduler.

Elaine was very talented and artistic person. She loved her music, photography, playing piano, poetry, and nature. She also enjoyed her cats, good food and traveling, especially to Europe, where she lived for a time.

Survivors include her sons LaVerne and Gilbert; grandchildren: Michael, Andrew, Ethan, Alexandria, Hannah & Samuel; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents and brothers Clifford, Neil and Bernard.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take placed at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
