Edward Smick

Edward (Ed) J. Smick, age 71, of Independence passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Edward was born on December 19, 1953 to Walter and Eleanore (Maule) Smick. Ed graduated from Independence High School and went to work for the Green Bay & Western Railroad. After retiring, Ed enjoyed working in his strawberry patch and garden, all his friends and neighbors reaped the benefits of his gardening skills. Ed also enjoyed word search and crossword puzzles. He was an awesome Uncle Eddie to his nieces and nephews.

Edward is survived by his sisters Marilyn (Al) Pelowski, Ann (Jerry) Grossman, Ellen (Larry) Drangstveit and brother John (Joannie) Smick.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Eleanore, brother James, sister Patricia and sister-in-law Nancy.

Edward will be remembered for al his laughs and willingness to help everyone.

Committal service and burial will be held at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery at 3:30 P.M. on September 13, 2025. A celebration of Life will be held following the service at East End from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
