Duane A. Johnson, age 69 of Eau Claire, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. He was born on September 14, 1952 to Joseph and Fern Johnson.
Duane bought his parents New Auburn farm in 1978, raising beef and dairy cows until he sold the farm in 1997. He then went to CNC Machinist schooling and retired in 2001 due to an injury. Duane was an avid hunter and self-taught guitar player.
He loved his 9 grandchildren and they will miss him greatly.
Duane is survived by his children: Jennifer (Josh) Pingel, Tesa (Ben) Simenson and Duane Johnson Jr. “DJ” (fiancée Ashley Munroe); grandchildren: Kaden, Drew, Samantha, Madison, Domonic, Corbin, Braden Alton and Evelynn; brother Bob (Mary) Johnson; sisters: Nancy (Harvey) Paepke and Sherri (Scott) Maciosek; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and brother Dale.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
