Douglas D Rode, 74, of Woodville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025
at his home surrounded by his family. Doug was born August 17, 1950, to Roy and
Margaret Rode. He was the youngest brother in the family, Army Veteran and a lifelong
farmer. Doug spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver and was well known as
a jack of all trades, often lending his skills to the Amish community.
He had a deep love for his animals, tractors and his beloved GTO-but what he was
most proud of was his children.
Doug was a devoted husband to Peggy, a loving father and a man who will be
remembered for his strength, humor, generosity and quiet wisdom.
He will be missed. He will be remembered. He will be honored.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters-Marijean (Don) Colbeth and Nona
(Tom) Sullwold and his best fur friend Homer.
He is survived by his wife-Peggy Rode; children-Paul (Candice) Rode, Stacy Schultz
and Samantha (Mark McCleerey) Rode; Grandchildren-Sutton, Denman, Charlie, Wyatt,
Brook and Jaxon; and lately-his fur children, Buppers and Bear Dog.
Doug requested not to have a traditional service, but rather for everyone gather together
in celebration of the life he lived. Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, July
27 from 12-5 PM at the family farm: 2337 Rose Lane, Woodville WI 54028. Please come
and share stories, memories and jokes.
