Donald Phillip Hangartner

Donald P. Hangartner, age 95 of Eau Claire, passed away in Eau Claire with family by his side on Friday, April 3, 2026.

"It's a Wonderful Life" is a good title for Don's life. He was the son of Oscar and Francis. He was also the brother of Kenneth, Marjorie and Joanne. He married his beloved Betty and they were married for 68 years. During that time, he became dad to Paul, Tim, Brenda and Todd. The family grew to include five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He worked at the paper mill for many years. He was a regular at football games and wrestling matches for his boys. He cared for a beautiful flower garden so his Betty always had roses. He was the walker and driver for many of his four-legged grandchildren. Don was never so happy as when he was spending time with family in the woods or on the water hunting and fishing. He and Betty have been apart for a few years, but are together once again. It truly was a wonderful life.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd, Eau Claire with Pastor Tom Wescott officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.
