Diane Welke

Diane Welke, 82, passed away June 27th, 2025.  She was born on July 3, 1942 in Eau Claire, WI to Charles Jr and Della (Hammer) Milward.

She graduated from Memorial High School in 1960.  Diane married Richard Welke Sr. on December 15, 1962 at Lake Street Methodist Church in Eau Claire.  She worked for many years at Wisconsin Bell, First Image, and retired from RCU.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, their four children: Rick (Vicki) Welke Jr., Jean (Andy) Ritchie, Russ (Kathy) Welke and Ron Welke; six grandchildren: Dr. Nicole Welke, Erika (Kevin) McDonough, Emeline Ritchie, Kate Ritchie, Zachery Frey, and Megan (Nate) Madlung; three great-grandchildren: Tanner Frey, Camden and Lincoln McDonough; siblings: Charles (Wendy) Milward III and Audrey (Rodger) Tweet; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Milward, sisters Joanie Milward, Mary Edington, and daughter-In-law Joni Welke.

When she wasn't busy working and taking care of her husband and children, Diane enjoyed her flowers, knitting, crocheting, reading a good book, and spending time with her family.

She will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) - 3:00 p.m. at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona.
