Dennis "Denny" K. Lapp, 80 years old, of Elk Mound, WI, passed away on December 25, 2025, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire WI.
Denny was born November 12, 1945 in Waukesha, WI to Clarence O. and Effie A. (nee Ferree) Lapp. Denny graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1964 and lived in the Waukesha area for 20+ years.
Denny and Rita (nee Gabay) welcomed daughter, Sarah, on February 26, 1975 and were married on November 14, 1975.
Denny was employed at RTE Company in Waukesha, WI for 21 years. Denny and Rita relocated to Eau Claire, WI in 1993. He was employed at Waste Management in Eau Claire for 14 years. After retiring from Waste Management, Denny worked part-time as a courier for L&M Mail Services.
Denny enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything. Whether it be watching the Green Bay Packers, weekends in Phillips or going fishing with his grandson Dayne a/k/a "Grandpa's little man". He also enjoyed spending time fishing with many family members in Canada where they would rent a house boat in the summer.
Denny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rita. His daughters Sarah (Dennis) Laney of Elk Mound, WI and Tracy Chandler of Lexington, SC. His grandsons Dayne Laney & Brandon Pham Chandler and his granddaughters Chloe Chandler & Bella Shoemaker. Further survived by other family and friends.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert (Donna) Lapp, Eugene (Kitty Lou) Lapp and Alfred James Lapp. Sisters Myrna (John) Delsman and Melba (Lloyd) Zimmerman. His grandsons Xavier James Laney and Austin Chandler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local humane society in honor of Denny.
A gathering time for Dennis will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona.
