Dennis Field

May 6, 1947 — December 26, 2025

Dennis "Denny" H. Field, 78 of Chippewa Falls, WI was called to his eternal home Friday December 26, 2025 at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. Denny was able to spend most of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day surrounded by family and those that loved and cared for him. Denny was born prematurely weighing in at a whopping 4lbs (it has been said he could fit in a shoebox) on May 6, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI. He was a 1965 graduate of North High School in Eau Claire. He served in the U.S. Army and then Army Reserves. He was a hard worker and was employed at various companies and occupations over his work career with his most recent employer being the E.C. Press Company where he retired after working there many years. Denny loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and basically anything to do with being in the woods. He loved motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons and was so happy when he was able to get one of his own. He loved music and was able to enjoy some fun concerts with his children Jennifer and Jerrod. He had never really been on vacation but in 2022 was able to travel out west with Jennifer, Mike and Jagger to see some National Parks, mountains, wild horses, bison, and kayak on Lake McDonald, drive the Bear tooth Highway, and even go to Sturgis. It was a trip we will hold onto forever. His cat Farley (inherited to him when his sister Kitty passed) meant the world to him and he spoiled her like crazy. He was also very fond of "his critters" in the yard and was very meticulous about the way he fed and cared for them. Eagles were a thing of beauty to him and he collected and was gifted many eagle items (the eagle kind of became a symbol of what we think of when we think of him). Denny was preceded in death by his Father Harold Field, Mother Dolores Field, and sister Kathleen "Kitty" Field and his special kitty Farley. Denny is survived by his children Jennifer Dewitz (Mike), Jerrod Field (Stef), Amanda Prudlick (Chad), Tara Huff (Curt), and Jesse Bablitch-Clark (Katie). Grandchildren Tessa (Marcus), Ali (Dan), Gage (Rachael), Jaylynn (Jonah), Griffen (Gabrielle), Frankie (Natalie), Landon, Reegan, Layna, Jagger, and Jett. His Sister Connie Nikolaus(Bob)- Nieces and Nephews Kim(Zach), Glen, Tim, Bona(Darrell), Scott (Stefany), Adam(Jess). Great Grandchildren and many great nieces, nephews. He is also survived by a very special friend Penny and a cousin Tammie, who graciously took care of him over the past few months allowing him to stay in his home as he wished up until 2 days before his passing. Denny loved to care for others and struggled when he was the one needing to be cared for. He ran the race set before him doing what God commands us to do- love others. Really as simple as that. He showed care and compassion to many. Those that others may have chosen to ignore, he chose to love. Those that needed help, he offered whatever he could to help meet their needs. The Lord rewarded him for his obedience by taking him out of cancer pain and suffering to his eternal resting place with Jesus. Isaiah 40:31 Those who trust in The Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint. A celebration of life will be held this summer at a date and location yet to be determined. Cremation Society of WI, Altoona has been amazing in assisting the family during this time.
