Denise A. "Dee" Bouley

Denise A. "Dee" Bouley passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Dee was born in Litchfield, MN, the oldest child and only girl of Donald and Geraldine (Arnold) Logeais. That wasn't an easy position for a petite pretty girl in a strict Air Force military family. Fortunately, the family was able to homestead at air bases in Charleston, SC, and O'Fallon, IL for most of her grade school and high school years.

It was back to her home state of Minnesota for college, at St. Cloud State University, where she met her future husband, James "Jay" Bouley. They were married at the campus Newman Center on August 18, 1979, and daughter Jacqueline came along ten months later. Dee earned her BA/BS degree in Fashion Merchandizing, with a minor in music, at UW-Stevens Point.

Jay's radio career took the family to Grand Forks, ND, where son Jonathan was born in 1982, then on to Fargo, ND, and Stevens Point, WI. They moved to Eau Claire in 1988, and after nine months, Dee and Jay decided to quit radio and grow roots there with their young family.

Dee was actively involved in area vocal music groups through the years, including the Valley Gospel Choir and the Stand in the Light Memory Choir. Quietly sharing her talents as a fluent keyboardist and a strong soprano, she brought her passion and important knowledge of liturgical music to St Olaf Catholic Parish. She became Music Director in 2009, demonstrating to four different pastors through the years how important liturgical music is to the St Olaf congregation.

She also held offices in the Eau Claire Catholic Junior League and the St. Olaf PCCW.

She put in over 10,000 volunteer hours as a superb seamstress in the costume department for the Eau Claire Children's Theatre, and also appeared on stage in a couple of musical productions along the way. Meanwhile, Dee was an operator at the American Girl/Pleasant Company call center. For over 25 years, she was part of various "500" card clubs, and never failed to provide a huge holiday assortment of sweets for Jay's co-workers at Markquart Toyota over three decades.

Jay and Dee loved to travel to visit their children and grandchildren in the Boston area, and frequently took winter getaways to Florida and Virginia. Their cats became quite self-sufficient during those trips through the years.

Dee is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Jay; children Jacqueline and Jonathan (Elia) of Westwood, MA; and grandchildren Joelle Bouley and Ethan Bouley. She is also survived by her four brothers, Keith (Dianne) Logeais, Kevin (Donna) Logeais, Maurice (Debbie) Logeais, and René (Leslie) Logeais, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents who resided in Alexandria, VA.

There will be visitation at the church on Friday July 31st from 4 to 7pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St., Eau Claire. Visitation begins at 9:00 am. Fr. James Kurzynski will officiate, with burial after the luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "St. Olaf Parish Music Ministry".
